Sized for Colorado Springs, not a rule of thumb
At 6,035 feet, air is roughly 18% less dense than at sea level, which changes airflow, capacity and charge. We run a Manual J load calculation on your actual home — construction, insulation, window area and orientation — and check that the duct system can carry the airflow before we quote a size. Oversized equipment short cycles, never dehumidifies and wears out early; undersized equipment runs all afternoon in July and never catches up.
