Cooling that has to work in thin, dry air
Air conditioners at Front Range altitude move less dense air, so airflow and charge have to be right or capacity drops fast. Colorado Springs also runs a short, intense cooling season — a system can sit idle for eight months, then be asked to hold 72 degrees through a 95-degree July afternoon. That start-stop pattern is exactly what kills capacitors, contactors and hard-start components.
